Our founder and CEO, Eric Harkins, brings a diverse and extensive professional background, encompassing GIS, Forestry, Mapping & Surveying, and IT.
In 2016, Eric embarked on the journey of full-time operations at Back Forty Aerial Solutions, fueled by the opportunity to provide aerial mapping for land development and heavy civil construction.
Since then, our mission has remained steadfast—to master the intricate interplay of equipment, software, and workflows, positioning us as the trusted on-demand drone services department for numerous public and private entities.
How our process works:
Initial Consultation
You can email or call us with a parcel ID, KML, or Google Earth file of the project location. We’ll discuss your project needs, site location, and desired deliverables.
Proposal & Quote
​Based on the scope, we’ll provide a clear estimate with pricing and timeline.
Mission Planning & FAA Compliance
We handle all pre-flight planning, including airspace authorizations and safety checks. Customer is responsible for onsite access coordination.
On-site Flight
Our FAA-certified pilots conduct the drone mapping or imaging flight
​Data Processing and Quality Control
We process the raw data into accurate deliverables such as point clouds, contour maps, DEMs, or Orth mosaics.
Delivery
You’ll receive your files in the format you need via email or Google Drive link, or your organization's cloud platform, and we’ll review the results with you to ensure they integrate seamlessly into your workflow. We retain copies of all deliverables indefinitely on our secure back ups or offline storage.
